Here you'll find some reviews and opinions about the learning experience at my language school! I've taken them from Google Places, which is where you'll see the rest. :-)

Manuel's Spanish classes are the best I have come across so far in South America. It is set in a classroom (which helped my concentration!) and has useful notes all over the walls. The classes were only small groups so 3-4 people each time and the handout notes he gives out are really useful and easy to understand for everyday speaking and also grammar.
I would 100% recommend him to anyone looking to improve their Spanish!

Manuel's school was one of the best learning experiences we had, my partner and I spent 5 days (3hours per day) with Manuel and learned so much. His teaching style is very applicable and we would learn lessons then have to apply them right away. He's also very friendly and encouraging, perfect place to learn Spanish.

If you are not surfing, doing yoga, or lying at the beach, you should absolutely go to this school. I have been taking classes with Manuel for two weeks now and I have seen a dramatic difference in my fluency. I highly highly recommend anyone looking for a competent, funny, and kind teacher to study spanish or english should go visit Manuel.

I can't speak highly enough of Manuel's school. I worked for Manuel during my stay in Huanchaco, and as an experienced primary school teacher myself, I observed fantastic learning outcomes and a warm classroom culture that played a vital role in this beautiful community. Whether you're wanting to improve your own English/Spanish, or wishing to do some teaching yourself, get in touch with Manuel.

When I arrived at Manuel’s, I already learned basic Spanish back in high school fifteen years ago. I practiced a lot since then but my progress seemed to plateau. After a short conversation, Manuel quickly locked in a section of study that greatly benefitted my comprehension skills which was my biggest weakness. He is prepared with cheat sheets and work for you, he also uses messenger to send vocabulary words we would go over in class. I still use all of this today to study. Manuel really boosted my Spanish in the seven hours we had together, but I have to say even afterwards while traveling Peru more progress has been unlocked because of Manuel. He’s a real genuine guy, a good friend, and I’ve had some super interesting conversations with him. Can’t recommend him enough.

I took a couple of lessons with Manuel when I first arrived in Huanchaco which was my first stop in Peru and I had next to no Spanish. After just a few lessons, he had equipped me with the tools to create my own sentences and start getting the hang of basic Spanish not to mention the incredible value for money! If you end up in Trujillo or Huanchaco and are looking for somewhere to learn, do not hesitate to go here. Thanks Manuel!

Though I've only had a handful of classes so far, I already feel at home at Manuel's school. He's friendly and welcoming, flexible and gives one to one classes based around your needs. He sets regular homework for me as I find this very helpful and gives classes with a lot of conversation practice. He has many helpful sheets to reference outside of class and every class gives everyday Spanish phrases that I can use straight away. Incredible value for money, especially if you make the most of his block offers! Thanks Manuel!

I have been taken lessons with Manuel for several weeks. He is a diligent, kind, and worldly teacher. His story and ambition to open and maintain his own school is a growing legend.
Manuel is well-known in Huanchaco and being his student, apart from drastically improving your Spanish, will offer you a level of protection as he is, above all else, an incredible host.
His classes are engaging, and he works to meet the student at their level. The best classes with him, for me, were simply engaging in conversation. Much cultural and idea exchange happened during this conversation, so not only did I learn more Spanish, but also more about Peruvian culture, cuisine, politics, music, sports, religious beliefs and attitudes, and daily living.
One of the most memorable experiences with Manuel was having Shambar with him on a Monday at his favorite *hidden* place (I won’t give it away!). Some of us (including myself) did not eat pork (others were vegetarians), but Manuel arranged some of the Shambar to be without meat - absolutely delicious.
Finally, Manuel is a patient teacher - I always felt comfortable asking him questions, and, as is inevitable in language learning, I made the same mistakes over and over again...but Manuel never lost patience.
For the rate that he is offering, you really can’t do much better.

Manuel is a fantastic teacher, he's really approachable and makes you feel really comfortable in the lesson. His classes are very student centred so you get a lot of practise and he assesses what you need to learn and focuses on it. He's gives homework to make sure you keep improving after the lesson and then when you leave huanchaco you can do lessons on line with him.
Apart from being a great teacher he's just an all round good guy and a plays a big role in the local community. Thanks Manuel :)

I've had a great experience learning Spanish with Manuel both at his school in Huanchaco and over the phone from London. Manuel is always friendly and knowledgeable and makes me feel comfortable. The value for money is amazing and I definitely recommend learning Spanish with Manuel 👍

I went down and heard from the locals about Manuels school. Took 9/10 classes private one on one with my girlfriend and learned so much quite quickly. Theres no better way to learn than immerse yourself and after this i had much more fun/confidence practicing with locals. Since we didnt have time to finish all 10 classess Manuel offered to do the 10th over skype instead of just saying to bad its our loss for poor scheduling! Amazing guy full of knowledge and lots of fun.
